To Make a Blog…

Well after much debate and tossing around the idea for the past months over the last week I decided to finally start a blog. It was during this most recent break when the idea really started to steam roll. I noticed that I was essentially using Jason’s forum as my own personal mini blog. Posting links of things I found neat, gaming news I thought others might read, random things I found on the internet that I thought was just cool.

Also during this time I started wanting to write reviews for games, nothing professional, just somewhere to have my thoughts written down. A way to limit the amount I have to repeat myself, and also just for my own satisfaction of saying I could stand writing long enough. Some other things have popped up at school that I’ve wanted to talk about, most of which I’ve been able to get done in short blirbs on Neude.net. So feeling I would have enough content to write about between sports news thats interesting, gaming news thats interesting, just plain cool things on the internet, occasional rants on things that irk me, and a place to put reviews if i get around to it; I bit the bullet and decided to buy a domain.

Alas, my lack of creativity bit me in the ass here. Luckily my friend Jason was able to come up with some good ideas. Some where taken, but after a day or so he came up with the gem we have here on the table. MikeLikes.net, fitting not just for those of us programmers that will chuckle, but ultimately that is what this blog is about. What I like, and on occasions what I don’t like. So my first thanks to Jason goes out here.

As mentioned, that was just the first thanks. Jason also was the person who recommend me to use aspnix, helped me set it up so I could tie the domain to the server, stayed up past his bed time to help me get the blog started, and answer most all of my questions during this time. So thanks for all of those as well. After fiddling around with php and mysql server for a few hours we finally got blog up and running.

So with that I’ll end the first of many post to come. I’ve got a decent amount of things to write about initially.
