I Hate Ea … Still

Over the weekend EA tried to buy out Take 2.
This pisses me off for a lot of reasons. The start of the reasons is the ones why Take 2 didn’ take the offer. They tried to low ball them by using stock prices pre GTA4, and then they release it publicly in an attempt to get an uproar of stock holders wanting a quick buck. They have the nerve to say that they don’t think Take 2 is good enough(yet they want to buy them?), that they wont last, that they are poorly managed, and they can’t reach the markets they can. A bunch of arrogant asshats EA continues to show that they are.
The next reason is EA hates putting rated ‘M’ on their games. To them M means they can’t sell it to idiots…errr i mean moms that buy games for their kids. That means your going to get a less violent version of GTA and manhunt. Hell even the much over hyped Bioshock is rated M for mature. All Take 2 IPs The last thing we need are mature games being made child safe so EA can reach a bigger market.
Then the biggest reason, take 2 competes with EA in the sports genres. To some of you it’s lol sports. Whatever, move along, lol fps to you. To those that like sports, we all have seen what happened to football once that went exclusive. We saw baseball dry up(until this year The show looks amazing) as well. Competion yields better products. It forces both games to improve. I’m sorry EA, but Sonys Hot Shot Golf series isn’t going to make you guys stop half assing Madden. Basketball games have been improving a lot to the point I’m tempted to pick one up, NHL has been picking it up as well. As i’m certain the Tony Hawk series will finally see some new life now that skate is out. No other genre can get sucked dry so easily. There are pleanty of FPS to keep fps innovating, pleanty of RPGS, pleanty of platformers and so forth on so on. There aren’t many sports games though and the last thing we gamers need is for that to dry up anymore.
So screw you EA, a year ago you touted about how there weren’t going to be any more major deals in the gaming industry. Then Blizzard Activision surpasses your crown, and your panties got all bunched up and now you want to take over a good company. While publicly blasting them.
