Guitar Hero: Metallica
Posted on June 2, 2008 - Filed Under Gaming
The milking continues of the Guitar Hero franchise. With the newly confirmed addition of Guitar Hero metalica coming out. It’s another big band that will sell, but it’s another iteration I simply won’t buy.
What has made Guitar Hero fun was not just playing on a fisher price looking guitar. It wasn’t just feeling like you could play these songs. It wasn’t just the competitive atmosphere with friends. It was a way to get inroduced to music you might not have heard before. I’m from from someone who follows music. I hear whats on the radio and an occosianal recommendation from a friend here and there. The last 2 years I’ve been introduced to many bands I didn’t know. I’ve also been reminded of many I haven’t heard of before.
It’s a shame that this is what activision believes will generate the most money, as it’s us gamers that get left in the shade. No variety of music, just a wealth of Metalica songs. Which all though many of their songs would be fun to play, there is a limit to how much fun playing the same style of music can be. Without variety it’s not worth a pick up until it’s in the bargain bins.
