Diablo 3, it’s official!

as jason mentioned in the comments, it’s now official that diablo 3 is in works. Now, i’d say look for it to release late 09 or mid 10. My predictions go WoW expac for this holiday, SC2 next summer, and then something for the holiday. If d3 isn’t ready by then, i’d expect sc2 to be pushed back to 09 holiday than.
so check it out and find out. It appears it will be sticking with free online using Bnet. However the ‘new and improved’ bnet is not confirmed being free.

For a game that isnt coming out for a long time it sure does look like it could run on any average computer. But, I think that was a BIG reason why diablo2 was so huge and lived forever… any computer could run it.
Looks like there won’t be any rush. And I guess that means we can expect some titles similar to Titan Quest looking to capitalize on gamers’ impatience in the meantime while they wait for their beloved Diablo III to come out.
You know what would be awesome? If they let people make mods for Diablo 3 !!! Imagine DoTA with the Diablo3 Engine!!@!$#@
I would doubt they would allow something like that as it would kill a lot of reason to pick up any expansions, which the bulk of an expansion is new classes and skills. Since it’s still going to contain a single player, I’d expect many of the same hacks to still be in existance. Especially considering what Blizzard has done with the last few d2 patches.
