Help Toast build a computer!

So…since my laptop is dead I can’t really do much, if any, research.  However I should be able to buy enough parts to at least get a working PC next weekend. So if anyone has some suggestions and/or tips for building a computer or would be so kind to make a part/wish list for a PC I would love you long time.

I’m looking to stay at around $1100 w/o monitor.  I’m pretty well set on getting the ATI Radeon HD 4870 for the video card and ideally i’d like dual core with around 3ghz processor.

In an unrelated note…You should be able to comment again…for some reason Wordpress doesn’t want me to use any type of linking besides the uninformitive r=?.  I’ll try to look into this later.
