Star Wars: The Old Republic Confirmed

Not one of the best kept secrets in the industry by any means, but Bioware and Lucas Arts have now confirmed that the MMO is underway. The studio developing the game opened up about 2 and half years ago and the rumors about it being a KOTOR MMO only grew since. Lets hope thay have been working on it since than and we could see the game by next christmas.

I should have my PC tomorrow and I’ll get the video up for you guys. Until than I’ll spread the little info that’s out. It’s time frame is about 300 years after KOTOR2, it will have the overall Sith vs Galtactic Republic. The game has 12 full time writers working on the storyline and side quest, so it will be interesting to see how they manage to tie a compelling story with a MMO atmosphere. It’s something thats often been tried, but seldom works.

Thus far only Sith and Jedi has been confirmed as playable. Droids and Republic Special forces have been hinted at, but not confirmed.

Overall I’m very excited for this game, I hope it can be everything SWG was supposed to be and then some. However because of SWG i’m going to be a skeptic until some more gameplay is shown.
